He practiced and studied glaucoma for three years at the renowned Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He is a very caring individual who truly considers the patient's overall well-being and health. He is vigilant against diseases of the eye, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, hypertensive retinopathy, edema and glaucoma to name a few. Over the years, he has expanded his mode of practice from basic eye examinations to a more comprehensive medical examination of not only the eye but also in some cases the vital signs of the patient. modifying this standard and level of care has not only made him a better practicing doctor but it also allows diagnosis of certain eye diseases 5 - 7 years earlier than the standard level of care. His expertise in this fashion has allowed him to be a better doctor and provide unsurpassed care of his patients. His training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is considered one of, if not the best in his field, prepared him for diagnostic examinations at the highest levels. The examinations are very thorough in ruling out any medical conditions affecting the eye. He is very serious about what he practices and his patients love him for that. He believes in the latest in technology to diagnose and treat all diseases of the eye in invaluable and having the latest and greatest allows him to focus in his specialty field of the treatment of glaucoma.

Dr. Elizabeth P. Covington is truly unique to the profession. She is native to Cherokee County, Georgia, grew up in the Canton area and attended Sequoyah High School. She graduated from Berry College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She furthered her education by attending University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of the most prestigious optometry schools in the country and completed her Doctorate in May, 2009. Her externships include multiple practices in the area such as Marietta Eye clinic and Ross Eye Care. These Externships included encounters at primary eye care, treatment of glaucoma, treatment of anterior segment and external eye diseases as well as corneal diseases and contact lenses. Dr. Covington’s also had an Internship at UAB School of Optometry where she received training to varying cases such as primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatrics, contact lenses as well as geriatric care in nursing home settings as well as a veterans hospital diagnosing and treating glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and low vision. Prior to entering optometry school, Dr. Covington prepared herself for the field by working as an Ophthalmic Assistant in Rome, Georgia performing duties including pre-testing, contact lens training and ophthalmic dispensing. Dr. Covington spends her spare time with her husband and her dog.

Barb is an experienced Optician that has trained every new optician that has worked in our office. Barb has been with us for over 10 years. Her expertise in the field spans more than 25 years. Her experience, knowledge and wisdom are not surpassed by her wonderful personality. She has a vast knowledge of glasses lenses and frames and meets the needs of the patients to their prescription everytime.
MS. MICHELLE BURNS Michelle Burns, Front Office Coordinator
Michelle has more than 10 years experience in the optical industry. She not only is familiar with the front office positions, but also as an optician regarding lenses. Michelle coordinates the patient care and their insurance benefits along with their orders for contact lenses and glasses. She is a master of organization!

April comes to us with over 9 years experience in the healthcare industry working for large hospitals specializing in the coding and billing departments. She has a meticulous nature and a fantastic attention to detail mannerism. She enjoys the challenges of correcting claim errors, working with the insurance company to coordinate benefits and manage the minute details associated with the healthcare industry. We are very pleased to have her.
